On October 7th 2021, we had a widely successful US Marshal raid at a Texas distribution center that was distributing counterfeit Ooze vape pen batteries. The bust went as planned and counterfeit products were seized and removed from the marketplace. The success of this raid is “a huge win not only for our business, but every distributor and wholesaler we work with, and especially for our individual customers,” says George Sinishtaj, Ooze Partner and Founder.

Ooze was established because our founders were tired of seeing cheaply made, generic vape products that were unreliable and harmful to end-users. This is one of the many reasons that maintaining the high-quality standards of Ooze products, enforcing the Ooze trademark, and protecting the ecosystem of our business is so important to us.  

Counterfeit batteries being passed off as real Ooze products are a dangerous threat to the vape industry. These knockoffs may look nearly identical, but they only copy the outside of the Ooze battery. This means that they do not have the same built-in safety mechanisms to prevent overheating. This puts every customer who uses a counterfeit battery in serious danger. Our company has “worked too hard to get our brand to the place it is today to let these counterfeiters operate freely,” says Sinishtaj, that’s why “we are actively working with law enforcement to stop these sham businesses from selling counterfeits once and for all.”
